Our Process

From first conversation to lasting plan.

A clear, six-step path designed to give your family confidence at every stage.

  1. 01

    Start the conversation

Request a complimentary consultation with our team. We'll go over the basics of your planning needs, answer your questions, and discuss the expectations and process for designing your estate plan.

  2. 02

    Tell us about yourself

Before we can design your plan, we need to understand more about you — your circumstances, family situation, assets, and aspirations. You'll access our online portal and provide the information we need to help design a plan for your future. We'll set a date for you to complete the questionnaires so we can review them before our meeting.

  3. 03

    Meet with your attorney

You'll meet with your attorney to discuss the major features of your plan. This requires an in-depth discussion of family dynamics, assets and accounts, future goals and aspirations, and risks and contingencies. It also covers the probate, estate, and tax laws that govern your planning. From there, we begin designing a customized plan tailored specifically for you.

  4. 04

    Continue the conversation

There may be lingering questions after your planning meeting. We're available by phone or email to guide you through those decisions. In the meantime, we'll be drafting your planning documents in preparation for your signing ceremony.

  5. 05

    Make it official

The signing ceremony is when you make your plan official. We'll review all your planning documents together and answer any final questions. You'll sign your documents and have them witnessed and notarized.

  6. 06

    Put it into action

Once your documents are signed, the next step is putting your plan into action. If you've created a trust, that means making sure it is properly funded by transferring or aligning the appropriate assets — and we'll provide clear instructions to guide you through that process. We'll also scan your signed documents so you have a digital copy, schedule a time for you to pick up your binder, and securely maintain a copy in our digital safe.
